While your student attends JCC
Encourage your student to self-advocate and take advantage of services and resources. Each student has a dedicated Success Navigator to help them get started with the academic year. Check in with your student to see if they have met them yet!
Good to know about accessibility support:
Unlike high school, a student’s IEP or 504 plan does not follow the student to college. You can help your student contact Accessibility Services to discuss accommodations and bring information from medical/mental health providers to the initial appointment. Your student is in charge of their accommodations. We will only communicate with parents when there is a proper release in place, and even then, we will only communicate to assist the student with access to their courses.
Good to know about career support:
Career Services can help you access Handshake, JCC’s career platform. In Handshake, you can apply for on-campus jobs, register for career events, and access additional career resources.
